Berserker - Samson Empty Berserker - Samson

Post by Samson Sun Apr 22, 2012 6:09 pm

Servant

Berserker - Samson NNUfN

Heroic Spirit Name: Samson
Age of Appearance: 27
Gender: Male
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Class: Berserker
Master: N/A
Face Claim: Idaten, Cho Aniki

Appearance: Samson is very much an imposing figure. He stands tall at about 6'6", and posesses a lithe yet heavily-muscled frame. This seems to clash, however, with his fair face, highlited by his icey blue eyes. He preffers to go shirtless to show off his prized physique. Other than that, though, he's dressed in finery; royal blue and bright white pants of some unknown, yet incredibly fine, fabric, accentuated by his golden jewelery. He wears a golden crown, as well, denoting his status as a biblical judge. By far his most striking feature, however, is his hair. Thick, bushy hair of a navy blue hue sits atop his head, and reaches down to behind his knees. Usually, he keeps most of his hair bound into twin pleated braids, tightly woven and capped with decorative spikes to keep them from coming undone.

Personality: Samson is almost the exact opposite of what one would expect an agent of God to be. He's rebellious, loud, and oftentimes obnoxious. He's also extremely hot-headed. He's got a short temper, and a fierce one at that. If he gets pissed, he's prone to fly into fits of extreme violence. Another big deviance from the conduct of most servants of God is his love of material objects. He loves food, drink, wealth...and most notably, women. Samson is driven by equal parts lust and heartache, and thus is something of a skirt-chaser...in a way, his desire for women is his greatest weakness.

History: One day, an angel visited Manoah and his wife. The couple had tried to concieve for years, and had been unable to. This angel told them that they would soon have a son who would deliver the Iraelites from the clutches of the wicked Philistines with the power of the lord. To accomplish this, however, the child was to never cut his hair. Eventually, the couple had a son, whom they named Samson, and he was raised according to these instructions.

As Samson grew, it became clear that he was special. He was strong, stronger than most of the grown men of the village combined. Unfortunately, he was also hot-headed and rebellious, growing resentful of always having to listen to his parents...and God. And so, he set off for the Philistine cities, where he found a woman he wished to wed. His parents were horrified that their son wanted to marry one of their oppressors...but what they didn't know, what Samson himself didn't know, was that this was all a part of the Lord's cruel plan.

On the way to ask for the woman's hand in marriage, Samson was attacked by a lion. With little effort, Samson grabbed the jaws of the lion and pulled them open, tearing the beast in half. Surprised at the depths of the strength given to him by heaven, he keeps the incident a secret. Later, after winning the right to marry the woman, he passed by the lion again, and discovers that bees have made the corpse of the beast into their hive, filling it with honey. Amused by this, he decided to propose a little game at his wedding feast: If his thirty groomsmen can solve a riddle, he would give each one of them fine linen garments. The riddle went as such:

"Out of the eater, something to eat; Out of the strong, something sweet."

Samson grinned to himself, knowing that no one would be able to solve the riddle, for only he knew of the lion. After countless failed attempts his groomsmen grew enraged and resorted to threatening his wife. Fearful, Samson's bride asked him the answer, which she then relayed to the groomsmen. Soon, they approached Samson, and give him the solution to his riddle.

Samson was furious, knowing for sure that foul play had been involved. Still, he owed thirty men fine garments, so he traveled to a nearby city and slaughtered 30 Philistines, taking their clothing from them to give to his groomsmen. However, once he returned, his father-in-law informed him that Samson's marriage was anulled, and his bride was given away to another man. In a fit of pure, blinding rage, Samson tied lit torches to the tails of 300 foxes. The panicked animals ran through the orchards and fields of the Philistenes, burning all of their crops. When they discovered it was Samson behind this, they quickly burned Samson's former wife and her father alive. This was ill-advised, however, for Samson effortlessly slaughtered everyone in the town.

Samson escaped into the wilds, hiding in a cave in the rock of Etam. However, it was not long before an army of 1,000 Philistines marched upon the cave. Tearing the jawbone off of a freshly-deceased ass, Samson charged into the army, swinging the makeshift club in a frenzy. When he was finished, the entire Philestine army lay dead.

Soon, Samson made his way to the city of Gaza. It was their he met the woman who would be his downfall. Delilah was a smart, cunning, and beautiful Philistine woman, and she had Samson wrapped around her little finger. He loved her with all his being...unfortunately, she did not seem to feel the same. When approached by several men of the city, offering her a fortune in silver if she can discover the secret to Samson's strength, she agrees.

When she asked Samson about his weaknesses, he teased her, saying each day that he would lose his power if bound with a certain object. Each night, Delilah would tie him up...but every morning, he would snap out of the bonds effortlessly. Eventually, Delilah gave a convincing performance, asking how he could say he loved her if he kept secrets from her. Heartbroken, Samson told her: He would lose his power if his hair was to be cut. That night, as he sleeps, Delilah had a servant shave Samson's head. With his covenant broken, the divine strength leaves him, and the Philistines quickly capture him. Overjoyed, they mocked the fallen hero of the Israelites, gouging out his eyes and forcing him to work the treadmill, grinding grain.

Months pass...and every single man, woman, and child in Gaza gathered at the temple of the deity Dagon for a religious festival, praising him for having allowed them to capture Samson. They lead Samson in so all could laugh and jeer at him. The fallen hero asked if he can lean on the pillars supporting the temple, and it is allowed. As he leaned against the temple supports, he made a plea to the lord for one last blessing. Feeling the divine power once again flow into his body, Samson let out a mighty roar and toppled the pillars. The temple collapsed, killing Samson and every citizen of Gaza.

Thus he killed many more Philistines as he died than while he lived.

Battle Info

Stats:

Noble Phantasm: A

Strength: A++ (A+++)

Endurance: B (A)

Agility: C (B)

Mana: C (B)

Luck: D (C)

Class Skills:
~ Mad Enhancement Rank B :: Rank up for all parameters, but takes away most of sanity.

Personal Skills: [Four personal skills maximum]

~ Instinct Rank A :: The power to "feel" the most favorable developments for oneself during battle. Due to years of constant battle, one has developed a refined sixth sense is now close to true precognition. Bonus effect of reducing by half the penalties caused by obstructed vision and hearing. Lowered one rank under Mad Enhancement.

~ Siegebreaker Rank C :: The skill of one who went up against an entire army alone and prevailed. Boosts the damage of his own Anti-Army Phantasms, and lowers the damage from the Anti-Army Phantasms of enemies.

~ Divinity Rank C :: With a birth foretold by an angel and strength granted to him from God, Samson was an agent of God upong Earth, used as a means to destroy the Philistines, the enemies of God's favored people.

~ Battle Continuation Rank C :: Strength of vitality for predicaments; It’s the ability to remain alive, withdraw from combat, and reach allied territory alive after being defeated. At this rank, it’s possible to fight even with deadly injuries and can remain alive for a medium amount of time. The user is also capable of ignoring all penalties that damage might cause while still suffering in the end through amassed battle damage.

Noble Phantasms: [Three Noble Phantasms maximum.]

~ Nazirite Locks - O God, Give Me Strength :: Rank A Support :: Before he was born, an angel dictated that Samson would recieve the blessing of God as long as he never cut his hair. As such, his hair itself is a Noble Phantasm. As long as his hair remains uncut, Samson's STR stat is a staggering A++. Additionally, any attacks Samson makes have a Divine attribute, due to being a blessing from the Lord.

However, Samson's hair may be cut by a Noble Phantasm of Rank B or higher. If this happens, Samson's blessing is dispelled, and his STR drops down suddenly to a feeble E-. To clarify, one must cut off at least one full braid of Samson's hair for it to be consider "cut", so a glancing blow splitting a few hairs or lopping off the tip of a braid won't do it. It is possible for Samson to regrow his hair and regain the blessing given enough time and prana, at a rate much faster than that of a human's. As a general rule, his hair will return to full length within two days, though this can be sped up if given additional prana.

~ Heaps Upon Heaps - O God, Guide My Hand :: Rank D Anti-Unit :: A medium-sized, white, two-pronged club Samson carries with him. Upon closer inspection, one would realize that this club is actually the jawbone of a donkey. Samson was famed for killing one thousand men with this, rapidly tearing through the enemy ranks. This jawbone club is unique that with each successive strike Samson makes, his attacks begin to speed up, potentially reaching a point where he's delivering brutal, heavy, rapid-fire blows. These successive strikes do not need to be on the same target. As long as Samson hits an enemy with it, the chain continues. However, if Samson is to whiff a strike, the counter is reset, and his attack speed returns to normal. Samson doesn't always use this phantasm, often prefering his bare fists over it, but will pull it out if he deems it necessary, usually if he has to tear through large numbers quickly, as dense crowds of people make it easier to ensure a hit to keep the chain going.

This Noble Phantasm is sealed under Mad Enhancement.

~ At Once Avenged - O God, Take Our Lives :: Rank EX Anti-Army :: Samson's last act of bringing down the temple of Dagon upon the entire population of the Philistine city of Gaza is replicated in this Noble Phantasm. In exchange for his life, Samson gains a single boost of God's favor, skyrocketing his strength well into EX territory. With this one last burst, Samson can perform an attack of almost unfathomable power, the force of which will cause the ground to quake and open up, and all nearby buildings to collapse, as a shockwave of divine power explodes out from the point of impact. The sacrifice of oneself to ensure the destruction of many foes.

This Noble Phantasm can still be used if Samson's hair has been cut, his head becoming ingulfed in a blue, holy light in the shape of his full, uncut hair, albeit unbound in braids.

"May I rest upon these pillars?"

"Fine, whatever."

With an exhausted huff, the battered body of Samson rest his arms upon two massive, ornate pillars. These pillars held up the entire temple of the Philistine god Dagon...whom the entire population of the city of Gaza were here to worship today. Samson grit his teeth. He was in a sorry state. His eyes had been gouged out months ago, when he had been captured, after having been betrayed by his lover. He shook his head. His hair had grown longer since it had been shaved on that night...but it obviously wasn't enough for the Lord to once again favor him. If only he had his strength back, he could escape from here...

And then, he heard a laugh. Sure, the entire city was there, mocking and jeering, but one laugh in particular stood out. It echoed in his mind, until the voices of the rest of the crowd could no longer even be heard. Just one voice remained.

Her voice.

Delilah's voice.

Samson clenched his fists. He had loved her. He had loved her! He had done everything he could for her, and she repayed him by stealing away his divine strength and turning him over to be tortured. All for money.

And now she was here. Mocking him with the rest of the Philistines.

The Israelite giant bit his lip as his body began to shake. The voices of the crowd began to fade in. He would no longer be satisfied simply with escape. No, it was much too late for that now anyway. He needed blood. He needed vengence.

Samson turned his face towards the heavens, for one final prayer. "Remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes..." he whispered, his voice coarse and weary. He felt a familiar warmth beginning to fill his body. His strength was returning. This was what the bastard upstairs wanted this whole time, wasn't it? He just wanted a weapon to kill Philistines. Samson chuckled. Well, it was too late to be angry at him. May as well give him what he wanted...what both of them wanted.

Everyone in the temple fell silent once they felt the rumbling, heard the cracking of stone. Every set of Philistine eyes was frozen on the support pillars in horror. Samson stood there, hunched, pushing at both pillars with muscles bulging.

"Let me die with the Philistines!"

The giant roared, and with one final push, the pillars buckled, collapsing, crushing several people. But that was just the start. The whole temple began falling apart. And there, in the center of it all was Samson, crazed laughter drowned out by the sound of stone upon stone and the screams of Philistines.

Samson died that day...but he made sure the entire city of Gaza went with him.
