Counter Guardian Assassin - Satoshi Inoue/Issun-boshi 208brtl

Name: Satoshi Inoue
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Alignment: Neutral Good
Family Line: Inoue
Servant: Tamamo-no-Mae
Face Claim: Male Protagonist (Fate/Extra)

Appearance: Satoshi Inoue appears as what many would consider the average Japanese young adult male. Everything about Satoshi Inoue's existence has been considered average by Satoshi himself, and this includes his appearance. Though his skin tone looks to be Caucasian, he is Japanese by birth and has been raised in Japan since he was an infant. His skin tone is still closer to white than the stereotypical color of Asian descent, but this is owed strictly to his bloodline and being what some would call a "half-breed" of Anglo-Saxon and Japanese parents. His skin is not eerily pale, and though he makes no special effort to take care of his skin, few if any actual blemishes exist on his person. Slightly darker than "pale" due to his love of soccer and nature in general, but by no means "dark-skinned," Satoshi is content to simply assess his own skin tone as "average."

His love of soccer and a natural affinity for the outdoors - an affinity which manifested throughout his childhood as restless exploring and a notable curiosity - have helped him achieve his current physical build type: again, what he is content to call "average." This means that he is neither "built" nor "scrawny," but in truth his helping out around his grandparent's farm every Summer and break has helped him sculpt his physical body into decent physical condition. He stands at an "average" height of five feet, eight inches tall and weighs in at below one-hundred and forty pounds. He maintains his physical condition with regular exercise, but only workouts he considers "fun," such as swimming, soccer, tennis, and track.

At first glance, there doesn't appear to be much to Issun-boshi in regards to his physical appearance. The primary reason for this is his diminutive stature: he stands at a rather unimposing 1.8 centimeters tall, and doesn't even weigh a pound. He is incapable of changing his size at any time, and both in life and death Issun remains oft overlooked by both enemies and strangers. However, Issun is still a heroic spirit in human form, and so he still is worth describing, though typically one would only notice his physical features upon close observation of the "Inch-High Samurai." The appearance is not actually that of the original Issun-boshi, but instead of the human magus Satoshi Inoue, whom has agreed to contract with Alaya as a Counter Guardian in exchange for the miracle "personifying a legend without a vessel."

To clear up any confusion, his appearance did not change much in becoming Issun-boshi, save for a slight improvement in build and a very minor shift in the tone of his hair. Though, his eyes did change from light brown to a greenish-blue.

Personality:Satoshi is more of a "straight man" when confronted with what he considers idiocy or foolishness. He considers himself "average," and "normal," and wishes above all else to maintain as much normalcy as possible. He is usually calm, and by no means a bore: he has a sense of humor, is well-read in regards to literature, and is very skilled at logical deduction. However, he is also wary of the supernatural world, only having gotten involved therein recently, upon meeting Mariele von Einzbern.

So, to be plunged headlong into a role even most magus would never find themselves in has essentially thrown him for a loop: he is happy that he still is participating in the Holy Grail War, but as a newly appointed Counter Guardian, he finds himself often intimidated since he has grown up thus far as what must at least be considered a "mostly normal" human, with only recent exposure to the world of magus through the Einzbern family. While Satoshi's personality remains dominant, he is able to freely consult or even switch control of his body to Issun-boshi, whose legend Satoshi has agreed to personify in exchange for a second chance at life as a human.

He is a healthy young adult who is not beyond the physical needs or desires of young men, but all in all he has pretty good discipline. He is well-read and enjoys reading, as well as playing games such as Shogi, Go, and chess. He enjoys solving puzzles and problem solving, and his favorite foods are usually spicy or sweet, even though he claims he doesn't like sweet things and actually eats them rarely. He considers magic "unreal" even though - through circumstance - he is forced to recognize its existence considering the recent events of his life.

History: Satoshi Inoue was up until recently a "normal" human, born to a mundane family and destined to grow up in the peculiar Fuyuki City. Then, five years ago, he met Mariele von Einzbern, a Magus, and luckily was spared his life thanks to the fact he had "impressed" her before she could kill him, effectively making her interested in him. Since then, he has studied magic under Maria, who mentioned to him that she had been chosen as a Master in an upcoming event known as "The Holy Grail War." He has primarily learned basic elements such as strengthening and reinforcement, but has picked up alchemic knowledge as well; it would be exaggerating to say he even has a fourth of Maria's famed alchemic skill or intellect.

Satoshi - by this point a close, personal friend of Mariele - decided that he too would participate in the Holy Grail War, with but a single purpose: to ensure that the Grail did not fall into the wrong hands. More specifically, Satoshi dedicated himself to a new purpose: with four years of magic training under his belt - at the time he learned about the upcoming Heaven's Feel - , he would do everything in his power to see Marele von Einzbern win the Holy Grail War, or he would win it himself. He began studying and training much harder. He has not given up on summoning a Servant, but after learning from a familiar that a nearby Magus intends to summon a Servant, he has decided to focus on killing the Magus in question to prune one of several inevitable enemies during the Holy Grail War...in order to protect the world, and more importantly...Mariele von Einzbern.

Battle Info

Limited Alchemic Knowledge - Due to spending the past five years under the tutelage of Mariele von Einzbern, Satoshi has accumulated a notable amount of alchemic knowledge. He is nowhere near Maria's level, of course, but at this point understands the fundamentals backwards and forwards, both in regards to specific feats of alchemic magic and theory. In both theory and practice he is at the level of an intermediate magus of Clocktower.

Affinity for Concealing Presence - A technique he developed himself for spying and reconnaissance, Satoshi Inoue can manipulate the prana within and around himself in order to induce invisibility, reduce any sounds and smells coming from him when focus is maintained, and cut off any flow of prana. This technique only works when he is completely stationary, but at this level can even avoid Enforcers who specialize in tracking while remaining still right in front of their eyes.

Affinity for Tracking - An important asset to Satoshi's training under Mariele, he has learned how to utilize his alchemic knowledge and prana in order to track targets. He can sense prana manifestation and output, which is a staple skill of most magi, although he has honed this ability to a high degree. He can sense when magic is used in an area of one kilometer of any kind, and can analyze spells and manifestations of magic when he witnesses them.

Mastery of Kendo - A skill unrelated to his encounter with Maria, though very possibly one that helped him impress her, he is a master of kendo and serves as the vice-president of Homuhara Gakuen's Kendo Club. He is skilled beyond his years in kendo, as it - along with soccer, track, and reading - are really the only hobbies he has ever had.

Physical Conditioning - Due to living a healthy lifestyle, Satoshi Inoue is more physically fit and capable than the average male his age. Though not bulky or "built," he is actually quite strong thanks to his kendo training regiment, and is very fast and agile thanks to years of practicing soccer and track. He lacks much endurance, but is in good enough shape that he rarely lost fights in school thanks to being able to avoid most hits.

Heroic Spirit Name: Issun-boshi
Alias: Sato, Issun
Age of Appearance: Nineteen
Gender: Male
Alignment: Neutral Good
Class: Assassin
Master: N/A
Face Claim: Chinjida You Reduction Academy/Shrink High

Appearance: At first glance, there doesn't appear to be much to Issun-boshi in regards to his physical appearance.

Issun-boshi is certainly not of average height or weight, as mentioned above, but he still takes a humanoid form once he is summoned as a Heroic Spirit. In this incarnation, his physical form resembles that of his form in life: a young, grown man in his early twenties. His skin is white, but not excessively pale nor unnecessarily tan or dark. This is the result of growing up on a farm, which shows in the light tone of his skin. His face in unadulterated by invasive acne or facial hair, and his chin and jaw come more to a point than square-off, though this trait is typical of people from the Far East. Issun's physical build is very small, but if he were properly scaled to the height of six-feet, one would be able to see that his musculature is rather typical for a healthy, twenty-one year or so young man.

He is very much in shape, as one of his size would be expected to be. As a result of physical conditioning during his lifetime and living in a world meant for people much bigger than himself, Issun was already quite athletic in life...well, for one of his size. He is not "built" like a bodybuilder, but neither is he scrawny or noticeably thin. He has little-to-no fat on his body, as what little of a body he has is mostly softly-toned but firmly developed muscle. His relatively light-brown hair is kept at a length somewhere between medium and short, his bangs usually slightly swept to the left and the back never dropping past the name of his neck. His eyes are an icy shade of blue which reflect both his attentive personality and his kind-hearted nature.

Fashion-wise, Issun was initially supposed summoned in garb befitting a farmer's son from Feudal Japan: a cheap but clean short-sleeved shirt with an open "v" neck, olive green pants which were held in place by a fine strip of leather which served as a belt, and sandals. Yet, instead, given the unconventional circumstances of his summoning, Issun-boshi wears the brown, default school uniform getup of Satoshi Inoue. Additionally, his childhood friend Kurisu von Einzbern had no qualms about crafting cloths specifically for one of his size: she wove for him a properly scaled rendition of more modern outfits. His favorite to wear resembles a Japanese male high-school uniform. This outfit consists of a dark-blue uniform jacket which is buttoned up the middle by light-bronze buttons that slip seamlessly and securely into place. His pants are the same dark-blue color, and reach to or just past his ankles. Beneath his jacket is a white, cotton t-shirt that is kept tucked into the waistband of his pants, which is in turn secured by a black belt with a gold-painted metal buckle mechanism. For footwear, he wears dark black socks which reach halfway up his lower legs and black, nicely-polished dress shoes that allow for both comfort and mobility.

A black variant of his dark-blue and his brown standard school uniform ensemble also exist, woven for him by his Servant: Tamamo-no-Mae, who feels "in competition" with Alice for Satoshi/Issun's attention.

Personality: Perhaps the most noticeable aspect of Issun-boshi -aside from his noticeably short height- is his rather "large" personality. From a young age, Issun expressed an insatiable curiosity about how the world works, as young boys often do. It seemed that his size had done nothing to extinguish the flames of curiosity which can often burn young children. Yet, because of his size, Issun's parents were (perhaps rightly) overprotective of him. Still, the stubbornness of youth is not easy to trample nor trump, and Issun most often prevailed in his attempts to satisfy his curiosity by exploring despite the protests of his parents. He came quickly to see the world as big place, and many sights that might seem trivial to a normal-sized person were awe-inspiring to him. He grew -because of his size, essentially- to see the world as a place full of wonder and obstacles worth overcoming. Rather than give in to the obvious issues of safety for one of his size, he became unapologetically determined to meet the world head on. And throughout his entire life (as seen below) he did just that.

His size continued to influence his mindset even as he grew older, and during his trip to the Imperial Capital of Kyoto, he became convinced of one thing: the world was a merciless place that coldly operated on a simple cycle: birth, life, death. The world was a place in constant motion, and even when families mourned the loss of a loved one or a country temporarily stopped to remember a kind leader...the world moved on, and refused to stagnate. It was this constant motion that humans often fought against or failed to grasp...but Issun-boshi had no intention of fighting the cycle. Instead, he saw this revelation as a good thing: when people were reluctant to move on with life and take steps forward, the world would practically force them to do so, no matter how much one wished to remain stagnant and unaffected by outside forces. He became more or less enlightened, both throughout his life and his journey to the city. Only fifteen-years old in body, Issun grew to see the world through the eyes of a person many years his senior.

Yet, certain aspects of one's personality do not simply fade. In Issun's case, he maintained all throughout his life several traits which refused to cease their influence. Since birth and after death, Issun was and remains adventurous and ever-embracing of the world's challenges to an individual of his size. Even simple tasks that would prove daunting to most people if they were his size, he faces with resolve and determination as sturdy and large as a mountain. He can be childishly playful and mischievous one moment, and serious and thoughtful the next. He sees the world as a challenge to meet, and considers himself rightfully an underdog of sorts. Perhaps the most notable trait about his personality is his perverted nature: he is a shameless lecher, believing that girls are "a miracle of the universe that should always be admired and honored," living by a code of chivalry in which there is little-to-no room to harm women or children. He is a warrior, as he was in life: he fights with honor, and puts the safety and happiness of his Master above all else, even his own principles. This is the personality of Issun-boshi, but not of Satoshi Inoue, though their personalities are very similar so they work together quite well.

History: Issun-boshi -like many heroes and legends of ages past- has had his true legend forgotten, as it were. More specifically, his legend is far greater than the commonly spread and widely known legend of the "Inch-High Samurai." For example: the legend says he escaped the throat of a terrible oni whom was too stupid to bite him in half, when in fact he actually demonstrated remarkable power and slew the vile creature in an epic battle that is in no way reflected by the triviality of his more well-known legend. Yet, even the derivative legend the world knows today is well known enough to empower him, and his acts of bravery even after the oni's death -while forgotten- still empower him whilst he is summoned into this world as a Heroic Spirit. So, the story provided here is the true legend of Issun-boshi, a small human whom ascended to power as "The Inch-High Samurai."

As the legend correctly recalls, Issun's story begins with his parents: a relatively young couple that could not be considered elderly or youthful. They were farmers, and in fact managed the farm responsible for providing high-grade sake and rice to the Emperor and famous noble houses all across Japan. The farm was located a few miles outside of Kyoto, the former capital of the Land of the Rising Sun. The farm was protected by samurai guardsman, so protective were the Feudal Lords of the source of their esteemed goods. The couple was financially stable, and had begun to settle down...yet, they felt as if something was missing from their lives. Eventually, they both reached a consensus that the "thing" in question was a child to call their own.

Yet, even after discovering this fact, they were pessimistic. The reason for this was that Issun's mother had been diagnosed by a well-learned doctor as "practically infertile" through no fault of her own. The couple had tried to have children before, but had never been successful. As they agreed to again try to bare a child, the woman prayed to the pantheon of Shinto deities. She pleaded with them for a child, stating that she didn't care how small the child was...as long as they would bless her with a child. And so, with the woman unable to conceive unaided, Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi held council on the woman's prayers; in all of history, no one had prayed to them for such a thing, and the woman in question was a faithful, kind person devoted to harmony and peace. Yet, the gods could not simply create life in that day and age...so, they did the next best thing: they allowed the woman to conceive a child whom was a son of Susano'o, who took the form of the woman's husband and utilized the husband's seed and consulted with both of them before making love to the mortal woman.

And so with the blessing of the gods, the woman's prayers were answered: she was with child, much to her happiness. She thanked the gods, and both her and the husband waited. Then, upon Issun-boshi's birth, they discovered that the prayers of the mother had been answered in an unexpected way: the child, though human and born of mortal seed, was incredibly tiny. He was born at the diminutive height of 1.8 centimeters tall, and was destined to never grow in regards to his size. The mother was initially less than happy that her child was so small, but in time -as mothers are prone to do- she grew to love the child unconditionally. Instead of seeing their son's small size as a curse, they realized it was a miracle of the gods...that it was, if anything, a blessing.

The couple named their child Saemon, but everyone referred to him as Issun-boshi due to his height, or lack thereof. Also owed to the boy's small size was an increased factor of caution on the part of his parents. Now, all parents are obligated and expected to be overprotective, but the mother saw his small size as a potentially fatal variable later in his life. However -as many generations have proven- the stubbornness and energy of youth will always trump the fundamental roots of their parents. And so it was that Issun-boshi grew up as most young boys do: over time, he became adventurous, mischievous, and playful. He was blessed with an insatiable curiosity and a constant desire to explore the very large world.

If anything, Issun-boshi was living proof of the Law of Natural Selection that would develop much later. He adapted...he learned to survive...because the alternative was death. He ventured outdoors often, and grew up both on the farm and frequently visiting the nearby villages, though he agreed to his parents that until he left the house, he wouldn't venture to the capital. In a sense, this was a compromise for both the child and his parents. They would allow him to venture freely about the house and their own land, and he could also go with them when they went to sell goods to nearby towns and cities. But, he had to agree to never leave their property on his own. Still, at just shy of two centimeters tall, Issun-boshi had plenty to explore and do growing up on his farm. His parents treasured him and considered him a hard-worker and good son. His father often proudly boasted that his ideas were bigger than most boys of normal size. And then, at age fifteen, one of his ideas grew too big to be contained.

"Mother," He said, on the morning of the seventh month of his fifteenth year of life. "Father. I am very grateful for all that you have done for me. You have been great parents...your kindness has left me in a debt that can never be repaid. But the time has come for me to venture out of my own. I need to see the world as it truly is, beyond our agreed upon borders. I wish to seek employment in the Capital. And, I wish to get there on my own."

This bold proclamation surprised and worried his parents, but after a week of deliberation, they consented. They knew that despite his stature, their son was rather skilled at survival...probably moreso than "normal" boys his age. He was still a growing boy, and they knew in their hearts that he needed to be allowed to spread his wings and take flight. But, they each insisted on giving him three parting gifts, one for every five years of his life. Issun-boshi accepted this offer, and on the day he was scheduled to leave for his trip, his parents presented him with three items. The first was a sewing needle that had been shaped into a razor-sharp sword. The second, a silk suit made for comfort in any conditions, and lastly a "boat" and "oars" made from a rice bowl and a chopstick. He thanked his parents one final time, and carried his cargo himself to the river. The journey down the river was a new adventure for Issun-boshi, and the fish he had learned to see as food, he now saw as potential predators. Yet, with his skilled navigation abilities, he reached the capital, Kyoto, in two days. A new chapter in his life was about to begin, even if the "Inch-High Samurai" didn't know it.

He first docked near the very large and very busy market square, but with thousands upon thousands of pairs of feet treading every which way, he wisely decided that it would be simpler and safer to make his way to a high point from which he could visually scope out the market. Already well-trained and physically conditioned due to a lifetime of coping with his size, Saemon soon climbed a light pole from which an ornate lantern hung. He reached the top of the pole and his eyes settled upon a large cart pulled by two sturdy oxen. From his journeys into various towns with his farming parents, he easily and correctly decided the cart belonged to a well-off lord. Saemon dismounted from the pole so that he could land in the cart as it drive underneath him, and just like that Issun-boshi was on his way to the Sanjo estate. He went unnoticed by the guards and their inspection of goods within the cart, and without even exerting effort he infiltrated the most carefully guarded estate near Kyoto. He alighted upon the ground and took to a nearby garden to conceal himself from a nearby guard.

For a good hour he wandered about the garden, until a captivating, alluring sound filled the air. It sounded to him like someone was singing, but with the voice of an angel. When he peeked beyond the garden grass and flowers, he saw two people. One was dressed only as the head of a noble clan would dare, and before him sat a beautiful young woman on a swing. She was the one whom had been singing, and Issun-boshi waited until an appropriate time before he began to applause. The lord and his daughter were confused at first, and the daughter stood to her feet. It was then she felt a light brush upon her toes, and she looked down into the soft dirt. Upon her foot was what she almost assumed to be an insect. However, she instantly realized that wasn't right, as the small thing had an oddly familiar shape to its body. She elegantly bent down and saw with her own eyes that the little bug was actually a human boy...just, a very small one. She offered him her hand, and picked him up from the ground. By this time, her father had also noticed the small human and both father and daughter awaited some sort of explanation from the boy.

"My lord, I am Issun-boshi!" He exclaimed, both nobles listening intently. "I wish to offer my services. I am inexperienced in the ways of the world, but my loyalty to your house shall know no bounds if you will take me in to your estate as a servant of the noble house of Sanjo." At first, Lord Sanjo seemed hesitant in response to this offer, but the girl in whose hand he stood spoke up. She requested him as a personal servant and attendant, and the matter was settled at her whim. Issun-boshi quickly became her favorite servant and playmate, and she would assign him tasks such as helping her care for herself or grinding off her ink pads and folding letters to suitors. Once, when she decided he seemed to be taking his job too seriously, she placed him inside her dollhouse and simply played with him. Loyal to Sanjo as both a friend and servant, she took Issun-boshi everywhere she went, usually keeping him tucked into her kimono or obi, or upon her shoulders.

One day, Princess Sanjo was on her way back to the capital from a festival in a nearby town, when a fearsome she-oni appeared. The well-trained guards were no match for the demon, and Sanjo was abducted into the forest. Issun-boshi remained unnoticed by the oni, safely hidden in Sanjo's hand. He emerged from her coiled fist and leapt upon the oni's hand, attacking the creature with the sword given to him by his father. The demon's blood made the blade itself a demonic weapon, incapable of breaking or bending or losing its sharpness. The oni dropped Sanjo, and the two began to fight fiercely. The small human proved himself a capable fighter, evading blow after blow from razor sharp claws, until he decided he had a way to end this conflict. The oni grabbed ahold of him and slipped him into her mouth, preparing to swallow him. Issun-boshi used the needle to attack the oni from within, and the oni spit him out. The warrior leapt upon her face and continued his attack, and for just past an hour the two fought. But, in the end, Issun-boshi slew the oni and Sanjo noticed something the beast had dropped: a mallet.

This mallet was Uchide's Mallet, a divine instrument said to grant the wish of anyone who swung the hammer in the air. Sanjo grabbed the mallet, and almost instantly Issun-boshi was granted the height of a normal human, his wounds from the conflict healed. Sanjo proposed to her long time friend and companion, and they were to be wed. The father approved, Issun-boshi's parents were moved to the estate, and he continued to serve as Sanjo's bodyguard, servant, best-friend, and lover.

Noble Phantasm: C rank

Strength: A rank

Endurance: N/A*

Agility: EX rank

Mana: N/A**

Luck: E/A***

*Issun-boshi has none of the endurance boasted by regular Servants; as punishment for being a Heroic Spirit whose existence violates the Holy Grail's authority and takes form without a Master using a human being as a catalyst, he can be injured by even human opponents, making him very fragile due to his size.

**Issun-boshi is not reliant upon a mana source; he is still very much human AND Heroic Spirit, and thus he cannot disappear from the world without a source of prana, since he is a "Masterless Servant" whom only exists because of Satoshi Inoue becoming a Counter Guardian.

***Issun-boshi simultaneously possesses a Luck stat that is E rank and A rank. The E rank stat manifests outside of battle, while the A rank luck stat takes over when attacked or engaged in conflict. This A rank Luck stat is the only reason Satoshi Inoue survived his first encounter with Mariele von Einzbern

Class Skills:

~ Presence Concealment :: A+ rank :: A skill unique to the Assassin class, this ability completely conceals Issun-boshi's identity as a Servant and makes it impossible for even skilled magus and even other Servants to detect him as the latter may typically do. At this level, Issun-boshi may - when stationary or moving - erase his presence so it seems he has disappeared completely and even the five-senses may be utterly deceived into not perceiving him. However, efficacy will decrease once preparations to attack are taken.

Personal Skills:
~ Battle Continuation :: A+ rank :: A manifestation of the event in his legend in which he was eaten by a powerful She-oni, and yet kept fighting valiantly, forcing the demon to cough him up and engage him in actual battle. This skill is one's affinity for vitality as well as an ability to escape battle and reach allied territory alive after being wounded. At this rank, a single fatal wound may be endured (or rather, "ignored") per engagement. So, if he were to be fatally wounded once, then he would still feel the pain of the attack, but be instantly restored to his condition before the fatal injury. Further, he can - only after suffering a fatal wound - temporarily gain the ability to teleport himself, so long as he is teleporting away from an enemy with purely the intent of "retreating." He gains this ability due to his lack of Spirit Form capability so many Servant can use to run away after a dangerous wound. Alternatively, he can choose to keep fighting, but if a decisively fatal wound is dealt a second time, he can still likely survive said wound but will be incapable of "ignoring" the damage, leaving retreat as the only feasible option.

~ Instinct :: A rank :: This personal skill is - put simply - the power to "feel" the most favorable developments for oneself during battle. At this rank, Issun-boshi's refined sixth sense is closer to true precognition rather than simple "reflex honed through experience avoiding danger." Any penalties suffered from visual or auditory impairment are cut in half as a bonus.

~ Eye of the Mind (True) :: B rank :: This skill is a result of Issun-boshi living his life at the diminutive height of 1.8 centimeters tall, and learning to survive in a world much larger than him, where he could easily be eaten by an animal or crushed underfoot, and the world would keep revolving. Essentially, this skill is the heightened insight and experience gained from Issun-boshi simply "living his life." Issun-boshi is capable of calmly and quickly analyzing battle or engagement conditions despite any danger, and just as readily deducing an appropriate course of action after considering all possibilities within a situation. Even if there is only a 1% chance of prevailing in a conflict, this ability greatly improves the chances of winning.

~ Knowledge of Respect and Harmony :: B rank:: The result of Issun-boshi's revelation, wherein he realized that his existence is small and insignificant, and that the same applies to most things and people in the world. However, he was determined to find balance and so became more optimistic and enlightened, deciding he should live every day without worry and center himself through faux-samurai training. This skill allows for no technique or set of actions - regardless of how many times said technique is repeated - to be "adapted" to. In short, plans, techniques, and the like will never lose effectiveness regardless of redundancy. At this level, attacks cannot be perceived by the enemy.

Noble Phantasms:
~ Oni-Slayer :: Demonic Anti-Unit :: C rank ::This is the "sword shaped from a sewing needle" given to Issun-boshi by his father, before Issun-boshi left for his pilgrimage to the capital. The sword was simply an ordinary, sword-sharp sewing needle until it became tainted with the She-oni's blood during the fierce duel between Issun-boshi and the demoness. When Oni-Slayer earned its name, it ascended from an ordinary weapon to a "weapon with demonic properties," in other words, Oni-Slayer is a man-wielded "demonic weapon capable of slaying demons." Oni-Slayer possesses the following abilities and properties.

[*] Unalterable State - Tainted by the She-oni's blood, Oni-Slayer became resistant to any forms of change in regards to physical and chemical makeup. The sword's blade remains razor sharp and can never dull over time. The needle-sword can never bend, chip, or break. It cannot be tainted by an enemy's curse, abilities, prana, or even transmuted. Reinforced by oni's blood, even high-level magic and Noble Phantasms cannot alter Oni-Slayer.

[*] Internal Strike - The true power of Oni-Slayer, and the manifestation of his use of the sword-shaped needle within the oni. As a reflection of the unavoidable damage dealt within the oni, all attacks dealt by Oni-Slayer may invoke the Multi-Dimensional Refraction Phenomenon and cause the attacks to also occur anywhere within the opponent's body without question, from any angle or starting point, though executing one attack can result in only one attack being transferred into the opponent's body. To use "Internal Strike - Attack from Within an Enemy's Domain," the target's blood must stain Oni-Slayer.

~ Sanjo's Wish :: Anti-Unit "Reality Marble":: C rank :: By swinging the Uchide no Kozuchi, the wish-granting magical mallet, Issun-boshi can cast a powerful spell. All of those caught within are taken down to his level, literally. They are reduced to but a hundredth of their normal size and abilities, evening the playing field by "bringing them down to his level." Literally, all of their abilities, skills, and Noble Phantasms are reduced to one-one hundredth of their normal size and power, and the enemy's endurance stat is entirely eliminated. The only way to break the reality marble is for Issun to swing the mallet again, or for an enemy to swing the mallet. Issun-boshi's will defines who is actually affected by this Noble Phantasm at any time.
