Caster - Tamamo no Mae Sample_667243c19e330df5a2ac7dc12a035a2569c9d68e

Heroic Spirit Name: Tamamo-no-Mae
Age of Appearance: 18
Gender: Female
Alignment: Neutral Good
Class: Caster
Master: Satoshi Inoue - Issun-Boshi
Face Claim: Tamamo-no-Mae (Fate/Extra)

Appearance: In a single word, Tamamo-no-Mae would be described as beautiful...or fluffy. Her beauty negates the test of time like a well-kept bronze statue. She remained beautiful all her life from a child to adolescence. Even as an adult she never looked older than twenty. She was said to have bewitched the Emperor she served with her beauty gaining his favor. This brought the admiration of many, but the suspicion of others as well.

Naturally ones eyes are drawn to the most distracting feature. Her hair is a soft pink much like the Camellia flower. Each strand is soft as silk and even when she first awakes in the morning her hair never tangles or knots. Resting just beyond her shoulders, Tamamo keeps her hair in two pigtails and tied with a large blue ribbon. The bow resembles a giant butterfly resting on her head. Sprouting from the pink nest are two furry ears. These are fox ears and reveal her true nature as not quite human. One can never be sure if these ears are her actual ears or perhaps under the hair lies another set of human ears. It requires the perfect angle to sight her other ears hidden by her pink hair.

Flawless and smooth, Tamamo's skin is much like porcelain. Never a blemish nor a blunder has ever appeared on her skin. Even the scars of battle vanish given enough time and attention. Her spotless skin contribute to her overall beauty that captivated men in her life. Her face was certainly beautiful with fine lips and a natural rosy blush. Like two amber gems, Tamamo's golden eyes complete the set. All seeing like a scrying pool her eyes seem to connect to the souls of others seeing all that others hide, but also allowing them to see within her as well. Hiding emotions is impossible for Tamamo because her eyes will betray her.

Tamamo is somewhat on the short side peaking just short of 5'3". She remains thin without any excess fat visible on her body, but also hides any signs of malnutrition such as somewhat visible bones. With ample hips and full breasts, Tamamo fulfills what most men want in a woman to the letter. Sprouting just above her posterior is a large fluffy tail. Same as the ears on her head, the tail is a reminder of what she truly is. Softer than any cushion her tail garners the attention of both children and adults alike, though hidden in life they appeared after she was revealed. Her tail is designed exactly like a foxes revealing her identity as some kind of kitsune.

The fox girl wears an elaborate yet revealing kimono. Navy blue with black and white embroiders around the edges. The kimono only reaches as high as her breasts and stops just after the hip leaving a layer in front and back to hang down. A black oubi wraps tightly around her waist with a black and gold sash eloquently falling from behind her. Her sleeves follow the same design as the kimono. Large and long they encompass her arms with navy blue, black, and gold. They stop short just inches from her shoulder leaving her shoulders and chest exposed. Defying all logical means her sleeves never fall off her arms despite not being attached to her or her kimino. Around her neck is a thin silk collar colored black and white. Hanging from each side of her waist is a bundle of white threads tied together to keep from loosing them. Tamamo wears blue silk stockings, a few shades darker than her kimino, that reach up about mid-thigh. Sandals protect her feet from the ground while adding an inch or two to her height.

Tamamo's mundane wardrobe of choice is a risque gothic lolita outfit. The set is all black in color with many yellow straps on it. Her shoulders and cleavage are bare while the bottom only goes just below her waist along her thighs. The yellow straps wrap around her midsection, waist, and chest. The top wraps around her chest, but reveals much of her breasts viewable. It comes back together along her upper chest and attaches to a frilly collar around her neck. The bottom resemble bloomers and end in frills. The sleeve resemble the sleeves of her kimino billowing out in much greater mass than any other part of the outfit. Black lacing goes up along the arm from the wrist to the shoulder. The ends of the sleeves open into a massive frill allowing her hands to be somewhat free. Blue lace and a white rose complete the sleeves. She wears black hose that rise up almost to where her shorts stop. She wears two straps around his ankles and black slipper shoes. Two blue bows tie her twin tails back. On her head rests a small black and yellow top hat that sits crookedly on her head.

Spoiler:

Personality: Tamamo-no-Mae was a cheery intelligent young girl in her time. She always wore a smile on her face the brightened a room. The majority of people who stayed in the castle claimed it was impossible to be in bitter spirits in Tamamo's presence, Emperor Toba included. Even those who were mercilessly envious of Tamamo's beauty and position couldn't stop themselves from feeling better when they worked with her. Occasionally some would have such an ordeal in their lives that Tamamo's smile alone couldn't cheer them up. Always Tamamo would go out of her way to assist them as she could, even it was just listening to their problems.

She couldn't steal Emperor Toba's heart by just being beautiful mind you. She also proved to be highly intelligent about nearly any topic. A common practice was coming up with questions to ask Tamamo which she always got right. No one were too sure how she became so well educated. The topics she was quizzed on range from religion to astronomy to geography to history. A side effect of this caused those around her to educate themselves to come up with another question to ask her.

Even with her immense knowledge of various topics Tamamo still remains air-headed and ditzy. Often comic relief to others Tamamo tends to make silly mistakes by overlooking a crucial detail or messing up right at the end. This is especially apparent when she cooks. She has to practice a dish several times before she gets it down perfect. Otherwise she always ends up making small mistakes that ruin the whole dish; like forgetting an ingredient, leaving it in the oven too long, etc. Despite her mistakes Tamamo never lets it get her down and often laughs with everybody when something happens.

As one would expect from someone whose one main goal right now is "To make a good wife," Tamamo is very affectionate and flirtatious. She does what she can to make her master happy, as he is the one she will be a "good wife" to. This includes fulfilling all the roles of a classic wife while trying to become accustomed to being the modern day 'girlfriend.' As long as she thinks her master would like it or he wants it to be she will work to make it possible. In times of failure she will sulk and be depressed for a time until she can restore her honor.

The other side of the coin known as "good wife" is a rather destructive aspect. Anyone she sees as a threat or a rival in love with gain her everlasting scorn. This doesn't apply to family, but childhood friends or more distant relatives are watched constantly. If anyone were to make a move on her master while she was around would be on the receiving end of some black magic. Though she is quick to forgive she never forgets. Even if her master urges her to be civil and friendly she will hold a grudge for what seems like an eternity. Often she shows her distaste through passive-aggressive tactics like ruining their dish or drink only, spilling something on them, or intentionally setting up a situation for them to fail. It would be best to avoid gaining Tamamo's scorn.

Tamamo has many positive qualities that make her someone enjoyable to be around during peace time. Don't let these qualities fool you into thinking that she is a pushover on the battlefield. In the defense of her master she will use any measures needed to win. Her witchcraft is not something to underestimate. Her cheery ditzy personality changes on the battlefield to something much more serious. She can be considered somewhat sinister or bloodthirsty when in servant battle. Unlike most Casters she sometimes performs feats unbecoming of a magus or witch. Sometimes attacking physically with her bare hands or using her Noble Phantasm as a melee weapon. These unconventional tactics combined with her witchcraft are just what make Tamamo such a threat to battle.

History: Tamamo lived during the late Heian Period of Japan. She first appeared as a beautiful young girl eager to serve Emperor Toba. Most people thought she came from a small village where she left her parents at the age of eighteen to do honor to her family by serving the Emperor. It wouldn't be until much later in her life that anyone would realize where she actually came from.

Tamamo-no-Mae is a fox spirit originating from the Goddess Amaterasu. Her physical form is that of a nine-tailed fox. Commonly nine-tailed foxes are evil destructive spirits, but Tamamo is much different. Taking the form of a young girl she ventured out to find a lord to serve and wished to become a wife.

Tamamo spent years serving under Emperor Toba gaining his favor. She first caught his heart with her beauty that exceeded all of his other subjects. While serving in his court she gained his admiration by being able to answer in query. Her knowledge about subjects like music, religion or astronomy was flawless. Being both beautiful and knowledgeable made Emperor Toba desire her greatly. Tamamo was certain she was going to be a wife.

However, one day Emperor Toba became mysteriously ill. There was no cause and no treatment seemed to help his condition. Emperor Toba sought many healers trying to find out what caused his condition, but none of them could figure it out. The answer came in the form of a traveling monk who had a hunch. He searched the castle and checked all the staff. He claimed that the emperor's illness was caused by Tamamo-no-Mae who was a disguised nine-tailed fox spirit who wished for the destruction of the kingdom by order of an villainous daimyo. Emperor Toba ordered that Tamamo be captured and killed, but she had already fled before he was giving the chance.

Emperor Toba amassed a giant army of 80,000 men to seek out and kill Tamamo-no-Mae. She eluded the army for weeks as she fled through the country side, however her luck finally ran out when she was spotted in the Fields of Nasu. Tamamo was forced to make her final stand against the army in the fields. She fought as best she could against the army making quick work of individual soldiers with her Witchcraft, but was overwhelmed by their sheer numbers.

As she passed on a stone formed where her body rested. The cursed stone would cause anyone who touched it to pass in a number of days. Thus the stone was known as the "Killing Stone" and was not to be disturbed. The stone was left in the fields for many years, haunted by the vengeful spirit of Tamamo. She was left to brood and despair all alone for years slowly corrupting her soul.

It wasn't until a Buddist priest by the name of Genko stopped to rest in the Fields of Nasu and happened upon the Killing Stone. The spirit of Tamamo reached out and threatened Genko with death if he didn't get out of the fields and away from the stone. The priest declined and stayed behind. He performed several spiritual rituals and pleaded that she find salvation. It took much time, but after a relentless assault by Genko she finally left the stone. Tamamo-no-Mae passed on with a single regret of not becoming a "good wife." It was because of this wish that the grail offered her a chance to give it another try in the Holy Grail War as a servant.

Battle Info

Stats:

Noble Phantasm: A-rank ~ Suiten Nikkou Amaterasu Yanoshisu Ishi

Strength: E-rank ~ Tamamo lacks physical strength as both a Caster and a servant girl in life. She has the same capabilities in strength as a regular human.

Endurance: E-rank ~ Tamamo is capable of taking wounds, but even moderate physical wounds are highly hindering for her. Her ability to withstand magical based attacks are better due to being a Caster.

Agility: C-rank ~ Tamamo is rather swift when it comes to evading and avoiding. Her reflexes mimic those of foxes and other animals. She highly outclasses regular humans in this regard, but her skills are just adequate in terms of servants. Only other Casters and some Berserkers are considered slower than she is.

Mana: A+-rank ~ As a fox spirit Tamamo not only has plenty of personal mana, but also knows how to work with the mana in her environment. She has mana that rivals most any Caster. When using her Noble Phantasm her mana rises so high that she couldn't cast enough spells to even fear running out.

Luck: B-rank ~ Even though she was struck down by her own lord after a monk condemned her, her luck stat remains high. She spent many years under the Emperor's watch without anyone becoming suspicious and evaded his armies for weeks before her final battle.

Spells:
~ Black Feathers :: A dark form of black magic originating in Central Europe before expanding throughout. Charged with vile witchcraft these feathers are truly dangerous to all who suffer their curse. The feathers themselves are sheathed in a coating that makes them extremely hard and sharp, capable of piercing wood and stone. These feathers become deadly projectiles capable of rendering a foe to a butchered mess. Combined with this physically harming effect the feathers are cursed with a dark magic. They affix themselves to the opponent, either by stabbing into them or just sticking to their skin. They are very difficult to remove requiring magic to pry them off. The curse they transmit is one of destruction. The afflicted will become physically weaker the longer the feathers are affixed to them. After a day of having the feathers stuck to them their bodies will begin to give out until they die. Non-living things are unaffected by the curse in any way and it cannot be transmitted by touching an already stuck feather.

~ Curses :: Commonly curses used by Tamamo require talismans or other mediums to use. Her curses differ from those that modern magecraft consider. Her curses cause some form of physical phenomenon to occur. Some examples are a towering inferno, a giant prism of ice engulfing the surrounding area, explosions of green energy, and bolts of lightning.

~ Mantras :: Mantras work as magical buffers for Tamamo and allies, and are usually incantated with lines from Shinto prayers. These spells usually have a positive effect and thus are used exclusively for allies. Some examples are boosting someone's magical or physical abilities, shielding against attacks, and others ways to give one an edge during battle.

~ Charms :: Charms are a subtle form of witchcraft often not noticed by others. They have minor effects and don't hamper others enough to bring suspicion to them. However, when used long enough even someone who doesn't have magical capabilities would realize something was up. These range from boosting ones physical beauty, luck, or intellect to stealing prana from their surroundings and others. Fortune-telling and precognition fall under this category of witchcraft as well.

~ Blessings :: Most wouldn't believe that Witchcraft was capable of performing any kind of highly positive magic or what may be considered "white magic." Witchcraft blessings are not as versatile as the other branches, but they are useful. They can be used for healing and rejuvenation. As with most Witchcraft the downside to using these blessings is that they sap the life and good fortune from their surroundings.

Class Skills:
~ Territory Creation - C :: Territory Creation refers to a Caster's ability to create special terrain that benefits them and their spellcasting. Called a Workshop or even a Temple depending on its rank, these territories are created along natural leylines and work to gain the utmost benefit of the natural flow of magic. While within these territories the Caster and their beneficiaries are given a huge advantage. Often times the territory allows for the use of powerful spells or unlocks their best abilities. While within the territory they're other skills are boosted as well. Because the idea of a Workshop is not only foreign to Tamamo, but also conflicts with her very personality she has extreme difficulty even erecting a Workshop.

~ Item Creation - N/A :: This skill refers to a Caster's ability to make magical items out of virtually nothing or existing materials. This includes but is not limited to: the creation of potions (Even limited immortality at high enough ranks), special armaments and vestments, wands, artifacts, etc. Tamamo not only lacks proficiency with using this skill, but seems to lack this skill entirely making her very weak when compared to other Casters in ONLY class skills.

Personal Skills: [Four personal skills maximum]
~ Witchcraft - EX :: Witchcraft is a special brand of magic parallel to Magecraft. Often referred to as "Black Magic" Witchcraft encompasses all of the negative and stereotypical aspects of magic. Ranging from fortune telling techniques to deadly curses Witchcraft is a dark branch of magic few ever practice. Tamamo being a highly knowledgeable fox spirit is not only a master of Witchcraft, but can even rival magic from the Age of Gods with her EX rank. However, due to the stigma she gained in life for the practice and being a fox spirit when she is first summoned she refuses to make use of this powerful skill.

~ Shapeshift - A :: A unique skill gained from having lineage to fox spirits Tamamo is capable of highly skilled shapeshifting. Essentially this skill refers to the ability to transform ones appearance to that of something else. At A Rank little is impossible for Tamamo to change into. This includes animals and other people, even taking on the shape of her master or other masters. She can turn into inanimate objects as well, but she has no desire to pose as such. Due to the stigma she gained in life for being a fox spirit when she is first summoned she refuses to use this skill.

Noble Phantasms: [Three Noble Phantasms maximum.]
~ Suiten Nikkou Amaterasu Yano Shizu Ishi :: Personal :: The Suiten Nikkou Amaterasu Yano Shizu Ishi is a sacred regalia that Tamamo-no-Mae wore on her person. It was a powerful mirror said to be a repository for Amaterasu. The artifact has a connection to mana far beyond that of most servants, comparable to Prelatti's Spellbook. This Noble Phantasm is incredibly durable as well as shown by Tamamo using it as a melee weapon, much to the surprise of most everybody that witness it.

The mirror possess passive abilities that are always active or can be activated. The first is an aura given off the by the mirror. This aura slowly rejuvenates the very life force within a person curing physical, mental, and magical stamina. This ability was later taken by the Mononobe Clan in an artifact "Tokusa-no-Kandakara" that was used to bestow good fortune to the clan. The second is a property granted by being a divine treasure of the land of the dead. If used it were possible for Tamamo to use it at its fullest she would be able to bring the deceased back to life. However, the Holy Grail limits her potential so she cannot use it to such a degree. She can use it to prolong someone's life while they are in critical condition granting precious minutes until aid can be given.

~ Blessings of Amaterasu - The mirror's deepest secret is the projection of some form of reality marble. The reality marble overlaps with the regular world curiously. She summons circles of floating ofuda and the area is surrounded by glowing torii. The sky darkens, but all surroundings are still visible and can be interacted with. There is nothing binding anyone to the area either. The mirror is in the center of this large circle where torrents of purple light channel inward into the mirror. The purple light is mana said to be from Amaterasu herself. Tamamo stands upon the mirror in the middle and the mana channels into herself. After taking in this mana she is capable of using rapid fire spells without fear of mana loss. It is said to be impossible to use up all the mana as it is near limitless, but the effect wears off after three posts.
