Roleplay Plot
[center]Our story begins a decade and score short of three hundred years ago, when the first Heaven's Feel was conceived by the Makiri, Tohsaka, and the Einzbern families. These three families, together, were able to make possible the manifestation of the Third Magic. And all three of these powerful families contributed something of importance to the creation of the Holy Grail. First, the heads of these three families decided that cooperation among themselves was essential, and with that decision they pooled their resources together. In doing so, they found a way to create a gate to Akasha. The plan was an elaborate scheme which would involve many innocents, but provide many chances to make possible the desire to have one's wishes granted. So, even as enemies, the three houses set aside their own stubborn pride to realize the potential of their insurmountable resources and power.
The Tohsaka family was charged with making possible something most could not conceive: the summoning of history's greatest Heroic Spirits as Servants to fight alongside magi. The Makiri family developed command seals, with which to control these Servants, whom were already known to surpass human ability even with respect to magus magic; that was the reason the device known as the Holy Grail was charged with the summoning of these Servants...without that device itself, the Tohsaka family would not have been able to make possible the summoning of Servants. Lastly, the Einzbern family provided a vessel through which the Holy Grail could manifest itself. This vessel would gather the unimaginable amount of pure prana that would result from this ritual, and in the end grant the wishes of one individual.
Eight years later, the First Heaven's Feel was carried out. Not much is known about the course of the First Holy Grail War, though it is known that the Einzbern family began to harbor feelings of resentment: to them, the possibility of granting miracles was their pride and purpose; now, though, they had been "reduced" to sharing that possibility with the two other magus families. And, in the worst of cases, other magus aside from the Tohsaka and the Makiri might win. That would be an insult to all three of the families, but taking that risk was inevitable. For the Holy Grail to contain enough prana to produce a miracle, it was calculated that Seven Servants would need to be summoned and then vanquished, their fallen energy and life-force essentially gathered into the Holy Grail itself. When but one Servant remained, the Master of that Servant would sacrifice the Heroic Spirit - using one of the three Command Seals provided by the Makiri - and fill the Grail.
Two hundred years passed before the Second Heaven's Feel took place. Once more, not much is known about the specific events that occurred in regards to the Holy Grail War, but once more the Einzbern family was eliminated earlier on. Whatever catastrophic disaster occurred in the Second Heaven's Feel, it was enough to merit the Magus Association's attention. The Magus Association realized that the Holy Grail Wars were too dangerous to go unsupervised, and they appointed the Church to watch over and moderate the Holy Grail Wars. However, this appointment did not take place until the conclusion of the Third Heaven's Feel, some sixty years after the second one.
Sixty years passed once more, before the Fourth Heaven's Feel took place. This time, the Makiri family had transferred to Japan and adopted the name "Matou." In addition, the Einzbern family hired an outsider to participate in the war on their behalf, a ruthless individual known as the Magus Killer. This fragile trust with outsiders was broken, however, at the conclusion of the Holy Grail War: Kiritsugu Emiya ordered his Servant to destroy the Holy Grail, much to the surprise of all involved who remained. It is known that Kiritsugu was not the only Master who survived the Fourth Holy Grail War; Kirei Kotomine - initially the Master of Assassin - touched the Holy Grail, creating a massive fire which killed five-hundred people. Only one person survived that fire, and he was adopted by Kiritsugu Emiya, whom felt somewhat responsible for the boy's situation.
Five years after the Fourth Holy Grail War, the man known as the "Magus Killer" met his end at the hands of Kirei Kotomine. In addition, it was revealed that one Servant had remained in the world, tainted by the mud of the Holy Grail and given a flesh and blood body. This Servant remained loyal to Kirei, and over the course of ten years - from the night of the fire, when the Fourth War's Servant Archer was given his human body - Archer remained hidden away from the world, his power maintained by a horrendous plot by Kirei Kotomine.
Six years and six months later, the Fifth Heaven's Feel occurred. The winner of the war was the amateur magus known as Shirou Emiya. He was also the boy who survived the massive fire caused by Kirei Kotomine ten years prior. With the same Servant as Shirou's adopted father, Kiritsugu, Shirou Emiya destroyed the Holy Grail with the assistance of Rin Tohsaka and Illyasviel von Einzbern. Afterwards, Ilyasviel - whom was the Fifth War's planned vessel and Master of Berserker - experienced a breakdown in her physical body, leading to her death. With the most recent "destruction" of the Holy Grail, magus began to grow restless and family feuds along with strained tensions exploded into a time of secret conflict among magi known as the Magus Wars.
Twenty-five years after the presumed destruction of the Holy Grail, however, a Sixth Heaven's Feel took place. The wish made at the end of the war was one made possible by the cooperation of the Matou and the Einzbern families: "The Holy Grail may never again be absolutely destroyed, never truly erased from this world." And the wish was granted, though the Grail still dissolved after granting such a reality-warping wish. But the wish had been granted successfully, guaranteeing an eventual Seventh Holy Grail War.
And now, seventy years after the events of Fate/Stay Night's TRUE END route, a mere forty years after the Sixth Heaven's Feel, the time is upon us. But things have changed, for the worst. The remaining embers of the Magus Wars mentality threaten to erupt into an inferno of bottled up tensions and muscle-flexing, while the Grail seems to have changed the rules: Servants are no longer bound by the numerical limit of Seven. Multiple Servants of the same class may manifest, and rumors abound of more than seven Masters being selected. So, with eyes and feet forward, many magus walk their own paths forward, into...
